The 40 watt 48" insect bulbs attract flying insect to light traps where they are captured on glue boards or zapped on an electric grid. UV insect bulbs should be replaced each spring for best performance because the UV bulbs loose 50% of their attraction as the bulbs age.
Food manufacturing, pharmaceutical and other sensitive areas should change the UV bulbs twice yearly to meet more demanding quality standards.
